He is the proprietor of the Othmar Company and the manager of the Merchant's Guild, an institution of the city of Ehrenfest that serves as a department of commerce and a bank. He and Benno don't get along well. He really dotes on his granddaughter Freida. He has gray hair and light orange eyes.
